Tanmaya Kumar Nanda


 
Tanmaya

Tanmaya Kumar Nanda is the Consulting Online Editor of CASI’s bi-weekly e-publication, India in Transition.  Mr. Nanda is currently based in India.  He previously served as India in Transition’s first Online Editor.  Mr. Nanda is a graduate of the Columbia School of Journalism with an M.A. in business journalism where he wrote his Master’s thesis on the changes that a growing economy is bringing to small-town India.

Prior to this, he worked for five years as an Associate Editor and Special Correspondent in New York for www.rediff.com and the India Abroad newspaper, which is the oldest and largest English weekly publication for the South Asian diaspora in the US. In 2003, while at rediff.com, he also completed a Fellowship at the New York Times Institute for Journalists. Earlier, in India, he was a senior copy editor for the online division of India Abroad, where he was in charge of the home page, updated in real time, as well as editor for the news and technology sections.  

   

He has previously been a copy editor at The Indian Express, one of India's leading national English dailies, where he helped launch their North American edition, and a news coordinator at the national edition of India Today, the largest selling English language magazine in that country. Mr. Nanda also has an M.A. in English Literature from Jawaharlal Nehru University.
