CASI Announces Winners of 2012 Travel Funds Competition
The travel funds for 2012 will be distributed among 16 Penn students. The travel funds assist Penn students to participate in volunteer internships with Indian NGOs or conduct independent research projects in India during the summer months.
A total of eleven Penn students have been selected for internship programs. There are three winners for the CASI-Aravind Eye Care Systems Summer Internship in Tamil Nadu; three winners for the CASI-Educate Girls Summer Internship in Rajasthan; two winners for the CASI-Chirag (Central Himalayan Rural Action Group) Summer Internship in Uttarakhand; two winners for the CASI-SPS (Samaj Pragati Sahayog) Summer Internship in the Dewas district in Madhya Pradesh; and one winner for the CASI-Dasra Summer Internship in Mumbai. The Aravind Eye Care Systems, Chirag, and Educate Girls partnerships were introduced this summer.

CASI offers summer travel funds for current Penn students interested in traveling to India to pursue volunteer internships with CASI partner organizations or conduct independent field research during the summer months.
